The Agony of Trying to Unsubscribe

It happens to all of us: you unsubscribe from an unwanted marketing email, and a few days later another message from the same company pops up in your inbox. Comedian James Veitch turned this frustration into whimsy when a local supermarket refused to take no for an answer. Hijinks ensued.

The Smartphone is Absent

Concluding our Perspectives series is conceptual artist Esmeralda Kosmatopoulos, who asks big questions about being human in a time of omnipresent technology. In the work she's presenting at the 2016 Pulse Contemporary Art Fair, she tells us how, in showing everyday actions with a twist, she's not necessarily criticizing technology, but challenging the viewer to re-examine what we may take for granted in our constant transcendence of physical frontiers. In looking closely at the intimate nature of our technological interactions, she turns the idea of "here" on its head in totally unexpected ways.

But the problem with this definition has long been apparent. The IPK doesn't seem to maintain its mass compared to 40 similar cylinders minted a...
